It seems silly now but I thought the chorus was beautifully written for an audience of young teenage males just like myself. Remember the girls led by Scary herself were telling dudes that they ". gotta get with [their] friends." As a 16-17 year old kid. I actually believed that the Girls (love them) wanted me to: Hook up with Scary (doable probs) but that she was counting on me to make it happen with posh and sporty first. This was an idea that I was completely ok with. What a fool I was. A neanderthal. As Spano would have retorted had Slater came up with such a silly notion. I was a "pig." See at the time. I was oblivious to what was steamrolling in. At the time. I felt like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" was a tremor on the richter scale of male dominance. But it was happening all around us... girls were becoming more independent. It hadn't occurred to me that the Brits weren't talking to dudes they were rallying girls. Stay with me. As you all know. Cindi's Laupers wildfire has raged on. And somewhere Britney rocking "I'm Not That Innocent" and Pink telling every man in the world that it would be just "them and their hand tonight" the unthinkable had happened. None of those songs are written to dudes for dude. Sure pink jests that she has dudes in mind but not so much. Maybe you don't care. Maybe some of our married friends are wiping their brows with a deep sigh of relief that they got in under the wire... You think the Chinese are a problem. No the problem with the society that we live in is a generation of females who dont care about anything. They are completely and emotionally unaffected by anything that goes on. Did any of you read the study that of male soldiers who return home from Iraq. 83 percent have reported relationship "issues"--defined as the soldiers feeling that the end of their current relationhip had already come or was imminent. Girls suck. Unless they are married or related to you. As a whole (and I realize this is a gross generalization that does not necessarily include ugly girls) they have blinded by Clueless Popstars. GymRats (who are really just girls too) and loving Fathers who have given these peole (I'm now lumping attractive girls in with GymRats)everything they have ever wanted and will continue to do so as they reach their thirties and their second and third marriages. I heard the other day of a jobless newlywed couple without a kid mind you that began living with his parents the day they returned from the honeymoon. A honeymoon that HER FATHER PAID FOR. WTF?It's disturbing what this pattern has created. Over time the momentum created by popstars dumbass guys and Loving Father's everywhere has completely changed the landscape of the single women left. Some of them are lawyers (avoid like the plague). Some of them are money grubbers (I have none and they probably should also be avoided at least like chlamydia). Some of them are dating douchebags (which is fair game except that they've probably been with said douchebag who has chlamydia). But the vast majority of them are perfectly content hanging out with their friends and avoiding commitment or avoiding guys together (See Makeout Session that Dominated Halloween Party of '07). Yep my friends. We are being fazed out. What's worse is that none of them (Seriously no college aged girl remotely attractive in the South)could name a current Supreme Court Justice. I was in Sao Paulo recently speaking to 6,000 (that’s right. 6,000 – Brazil does numbers!!) Brazilian executives about the power of emotion. Afterwards. I took an hour out to visit one of the most interesting stores in the world. It was founded a couple of decades ago by two Brazilian women who started with a store in their home. Then their daughter took it to the next level by creating a beautiful Italianate villa stocking all the world’s great fashion brands and displaying them beautifully. When she first built the villa it was in the middle of a favella (slum) which is now completely gentrified. To get into Daslu you need to be a member with your own black card. When you do get entry you are met by a bunch of 25 valets and led into the store. If you are a woman it’s open house in keeping with the store’s legacy. If you are a man you can go everywhere except the 1st floor which is restricted to women. This is where Daslu’s own brands are sold. Every entrance to this 1st floor is blocked by a 4-foot alabaster statue of a Rottweiller with a sign saying “No Men Allowed” hanging from its neck. When you visit Daslu you are talking about a full day. It has a day spa hairdresser beauty salon. Japanese restaurant champagne bar two other restaurants and incredible maid service. Every single department has two or three Brazilian women dressed in traditional maid’s uniform who are there to take garments from the shoppers try them on fit them and stack them up. It really is a theatre of dreams dripping with mystery sensuality and intimacy. The mystery that surrounds not being allowed on the 1st floor is an absolute killer. You can visit Prada. Chanel. Dior. Gucci. M. A. C and all the others great names throughout the store but you can’t get into the engine room. Very clever. As if Daslu wasn’t enough. I had another great store experience on the same day. Right next to the hotel is one of the best delis I’ve ever been into. It is called and makes Dean & Deluca look like a corner shop. It has the best fruit (pineapple sized tangerines mangos that could feed a family) incredible meats a fantastic Brazilian bakery and sweets to die for. The fresh produce is terrific and service is first class. Casa Santa Luzia is run by an entrepreneur who has a real feel for flavor and quality. Definitely worth a detour. Hi Kevin. Our softsell mags finally came out today. On the front cover of Encomium magazine was Katherine Edoho the wife of Frank Edoho the guy who had an opinion about single women and 'their' habits. come up for reasons beat known to Katherine she also decided to grant a tell-all interview to Encomium magazine. I know I talk too much lol but this couple have taken the enthrone. Here's what Katherine had to say about her preserve and marriage. Headline: "stamp Edoho is a beast. So I was running and putting pressure on my leg and bleeding the more. When I came back. I told my younger brother "gratify the kind of beating they gave me before I travelled. I cannot take it two times. Help me to come and pack my belongings just your presence alone.. if you don't come with me. I'll act police to go and pack my things from the house because I be peace. For now. I cannot undergo it at home. When we reached home my son said "Mummy didnt daddy say you should not come back to the accommodate?"In the course of those beatings have you ever retaliated physically?"It's instinctive. The operation also functioned in a very problematic protection environment and had a number of components that gave serious reason for concern. Those concerns were quite a challenge for UNHCR and its partners to address. One of the key protection challenges included accessing the population she went on. Registration was important for understanding the vulnerabilities of the people and the kinds of problems they faced but UNHCR had only been able to register fewer than 200,000 people out of a population of 1.4 million in Syria. That situation gave an indication of the dimension of the problem. That issue had concerned more than reluctance on that part of the Government of Syria to allow UNHCR beat access outside of Damascus but UNHCR’s capacity and support for its activities in that regard.
