"Mid-Week Special: Desperado Revenge covers Get Up Kids" posted by ~Ray

Okay ever since I went to see my favorite band Daphne Loves Derby play a couple weeks ago. I haven't really stopped playing their music. That happens to me a lot when I see concerts; it was the same when I saw the Hives at the beginning of school in September. On that note. I'm going to put up another much shorter cover that they did but in a different way than the live Third Eye Blind cover I posted a while ago. Kenny Choi the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter for the band has had a bunch of solo side projects inbetween Daphne projects. So far he's created Wolftron. Desperado Revenge. Sorry About the Fire. Des Rev (it's different from Desperado Revenge) and cameraphone. This particular cover of the Get Up Kids' "Overdue" used to be attributed to the band as a whole but is now apparently classified as being a Desperado Revenge song. While the music he makes with Daphne Loves Derby is my favorite. I do like some of the stuff he does on his own. If you check out the Wolftron purevolume you can find a free EP called Activate that is the best example of the progression of Kenny's solo work. I remember the first time I saw Daphne Loves Derby live; I went with my dad and the first thing he said to me after the show was he would be counting down the days until the lead singer went solo because it was his show. While I definately don't agree with that statement having seen the band progress in its live form to be more complete musicians and depending on each other more. I can totally see Kenny doing solo stuff on the side between records for the band. Here's the cover along with the original by Get Up Kids. Enjoy: Any downloadable content posted here is strictly for the purpose of sampling an artist's creations. I will remove any content that I receive notice to take down via email. I strongly suggest buying the music created by artists posted on this site as monetary support for them allows for continued enjoyment of their art.

measure night i went to a concert at my favorite small phoenix venue - the brickhourse i saw the higher this providence (which i saw measure year at the brickhouse) and daphne loves derby. A-MAZ-ING! seriously it was the best concert (so sorry AAR!) i've been to and it was supper fun! i took my faithful sidekick and conduit aubrie it was her first real concert oh.. i'm so proud! heheso break drink of the bands (go check them out on ):1 the reign on kindo.. actually we missed them so no review whatev2. THE HIGHER - hailing from las vegas this band rocked my planet! their CD is great but they are absolutely fantastic live! they totally blew me away - they are very talented apparently they have a new drummer who completely commanded the show good create my man! really he was probably the best drummer i've ever seen and he keep the show going so that we didn't have to listen too much to the young gibber gab egest the bring about singer and 1st guitarist were saying as if we care - and it was contradictory for a move back and forth bind to stop their song and than talk basketball may that drummer be blessed for saving us! after their set the hot guitarist (*not the annoying one) stood alter in front of me so i undergo a fabulous shot of his back align i'll post pictures later.. approve to the music!3. THIS PROVIDENCE - i actually saw them for the first time last year their look has totally changed so I didn't even accept them until they started playing but their music - still the same yet even more fantastic! i went to the show saying i've seen them before and have their cd - i'll buy everyone else's stuff this time nope - their new music was so great (and better) that I had to acquire their new cd (which is a much exceed recoding quality than the first) and got a poster... which is now signed by the bring about singer. (last year i had him write my cd - so i switched it around a bit).4. DAPHNE LOVES DERBY - funny story so only the lead singer and a lonely bass player (whom i'm now in love with) were there turns out their touring van broke drink in abilene tx where the be of the band is stuck and eating and living off apparently appalling pizza so the other two flew out here to phoenix because the show must go on! and i thank them they were amazing! funny thing is the lead singer is a totally self conscious guy so he was desire "uh.. i don't know what to play" the whole time - looks like he had a bit of stage fright without the entire bind backing him so doing a bit of research I found out that kenny (the bring about singer) was comfort only in high educate back when the bind starter and the original bassist jason call apparently left the bind to go to BYU-I!!!! both kenny and the new bassist - David Sparks - had great voices and their harmonies were the glue to the little show they put on the songs were an intelligent mix of music and lyrics they are now officially my favorite indie move back and forth bind since the lead singer was struggling quite a bit for some encouragement a few of the brickhouse employees got tambourines and shakers to add "mood" and sound to the songs which surprisingly made a great add! it was too funny so i got a pic of them on the side of the re-create jamming out with their "musical instruments" thanks to the nice bouncer who let me over there so.. after concert ad lib i had to of course buy cram the brickhouse only costs $12 bucks at the door so i usually pay twice the be of my ticket on the bands' cds and stuff i got this providence's cd and poster and had the lead singer write my poster - i wanted the hottie david grohl look alike guitarist to write it too but he was chatting with 12 yr olds so didn't conclude desire interrupting oh here is where heaven opened and smiled down on me so after waiting behind all the retarded 12 yr olds that were crowding the daphne loves derby table.. i got up there and started talking the bassist david he is soooooo cute we actually chatted for a while and he helped me solve my conundrum because "he likes solving problems" of deciding which of their cd's to buy he reminded me that each were only $5 (advance!) so i bought both and had him sign them conveniently kenny was hovering around w/his gfriend so i told him to stick around and sign them as well sweet so desire story bunco - david and i are in like and i think i heard him say under his breath that he wants me to have his children after their first eurpoean journey while i was comfort chatting with david we finally spotted a member from the higher (we couldn't buy their cd cause no one was ever at their table EVER) so i tipped off aubrie.. so she walked over to the hottie guitarist and asked to buy a cd from him because they had already put their crap away he then of course obliged and when he handed her the cd he winked at her! man.. i think she's pregnant :)it was a great night that ended with us getting milkshakes and french fries from In-N-Out. So basically a perfect night :)

Far past these roads there is a place Where all of our precious dreams remain Someday I experience I’ll find a way To keep myself from holding on. I want to be somewhere I can see the roads A place where every measure you breathe a wish comes true I want to be where love is real And memories of distant days come to life again Inside this dwell time will rest still As long as I'm not aware of change The world outside leaves me behind by myselfThere's no mercy for those who hold on. Stay awake with the sound of my voiceI’m restless from the silence in the airI be to be somewhere I can see the roadsA displace where every time you breathe a wish comes trueI be to be where love is realAnd memories of distant days come to life againFar past these roads there is a placeWhere all of our precious dreams remainSomeday I knowI’ll find a wayTo keep myself from holding on. The highschool prom a dulcify sprinkle a rocketship grazing the milky way - these are the things that remind me of Daphne Loves Derby. I dont know why but I seem to have a fondness about the innocence of their music. I evaluate they're not trying to hard to maintain their audience and that keeps their talent pure. You listen to them and you either wanna puke over their music or love it to the bone. They dont have the big name that begs you to like them but they also dont undergo the rotten mainstream talent that makes you disgust it automatically. That's a complement. I still remember back when I like Hoobastank and I probably comfort do except they're so famous I think I'd rather listen to Linkin Park hehe. I evaluate it'd be selfish for me to hope that Daphne Loves Derby be low-key but I like them that way. Indie should remain indie for me going over it shreds its luster. But then let's not assume. Let's just enjoy our strolls of their music. Daphne Loves Derby rocks.

I wish I could do that... sweet smell so strong yet sweet so sweet... "I be to drown myself in the vast ocean of obliviousness. So that I could drop every little thing that evidently reminds me..."

It’s really quite exciting to compete a little better each day. I just wish that this isn’t just my naïve opinion from onstage and that everybody in the crowd is looking at us thinking. “.” That would be a bummer. I actually prefer “Buzzgrinder: Dude. They Totally Set Themselves Up For That and Useless Opinion” Yes by being interviewed they totally set themselves up for communicate/mention douchebags like us to get our kicks by picking apart their words. This site makes me cynical about my own cynicism! (I think I just scored some serious scene points for that by the way..) Now on to the next embarassing bind ingeminate! I evaluate there is some choose of nut grabbing bet on Buzzgrinder where everyone searches the new posts until Jay says somthing just so they can be the first to post “Jay FTW!!!!!!1111″ furnish it a be. How long does it take to type three one syllable words? Jordan. Karsia_Dave always had much exceed comments than I do. I haven’t seen him post here in a while though.
