Beloit on the weekends is an interesting time. I'm often thrown by the juxtaposition of the calm and focused days with the abundant energy of the nights. Events on campus this weekend included a scary story reading a German polka dance a staging of the Rocky Horror Picture show battle of the bands at the on campus bar a band at the on campus bar the next evening and a halloween party complete with costume contest (first prize went to a guy that fashioned an Optimus Prime costume out cardboard boses and intricate spray painting) thrown by Sigma Chi and Kappa Delta. As social chair of KD. I was one of the people in charge of this all-campus shindig and I am extremely happy that it went as well as it did. There were some CRAZY costumes out there! I feel that Beloit may be one of the only places where Edward Scissorshands an alein from Star Wars a member of the blue man group. Spartans from 300. Anna Nicole Smith a transformer pirates and 4 different stages of Britney Spears can be found in the same place. I could be wrong though. Also don't let anyone ever tell you that there's nothing to do at Beloit. If they say that they clearly have not looked hard enough or are just not paying attention. I mean that's quite the list for two days!Really quickly I want to explain the title of my blog. Last night I slept over in my friend Liz and Emma's room (they are wonderful and let me keep my own toothbrush there) and when I walked into the room Emma had put on the movie Love. Actually. This movie will always remind me of my first year in college (I watched it who knows how many times first semester last year with my friends Rachael and Ally) and having it on last night took me back to those first few weeks when it felt breezy confusing delightful challenging and amusing all at the same time trying to figure out the whole college thing. This year I'm up to my ears in repsonsibility constantly on my toes and having the time of my life. My point is it is so interesting to see how things have worked themselves out over the course of a year and I wait excitedly to see what challenges lessons and stories the rest of my time here will bring. Like watching Love. Actually more than any other movie as a first year and being delighted by it enough my second year to have trouble falling asleep after a night of constant action distracted by the memories of using every excuse possible to watch it (bad day good day rainy day homework break etc) only a year before. Hello! My name is Emily and I'm enjoying the Beloit College campus for the second year now. I've lived in Minnesota all my life so you can imagine how thrilling it is to be going to school out of state. I am still an undeclared major but I'm hoping to declare History any day now. Until and after that happens I'll be busy with Gold Key. Kappa Delta and Theater for Social Action.

i comfort remember my mother spending countless hours with me drawing houses and having me act upon them in i guess it must have been hard for an artist to have given birth to such an artistically challenged child i entangle bad about my lack of artistic ability and i was almost disappointed with myself. i remember being so ecstatic and amazed that as a world renound artist he didn’t even know how to draw either! i mentally bet that i could draw a way better house than he could and i believe i’d even mentioned to my teacher that i although i was a bad artist i didn’t think i could ever be as bad as picasso. i’d come to this conclusion on the basis that all art was drawn realistically until then i had not been exposed to other art forms and had i had mroe experience with art i don’t think i’d even accepted any other art form to be considered actual art. then i had an epiphany a revelation: what if that is how picasso saw the world? what if his eyes looked at everything with cubistic angle? maybe i was criticizing a man who could not back up what he saw? this worried me i began to query and challenge and ponder and panic about whether or not the rest of the people around me saw the world as i did i thought that if everybody saw everything differently then we would have a rather lonely world. just imagining that i could see a beautiful yellow sunset and that my mother or create or friend would see it in black and white or with harsher lines or even cubistically worried me we couldn’t ever bond over the fact that we could both see the same touching sunset. it was hard but i thought longer and even harder i asked a lot of people how they’d see different objects to the point of annoyance i’d continually ask things like. “what colour is this pear? what shape is it? do you see freckles too?” had he not seen the world with that vision. AND had the determination he had to displace what he’d seen– we would not be paying so much money to experience parts of his world. so now every time i want to do something that somebody may not completely agree with every measure i want to get ridiculous on the world and create it the way i see it i don’t ever try to stop myself. I actually do think that everyone sees the world differently when i look at a pear i see one thing and you see another the way we describe it has no bearing on how we see it because when we were born we were taught that “this colour i am pointing at is blue” whether the child actually see/interprets it the same way we do does not matter. What i mean is if you undergo a child and everytime you taught it something you taught it the “wrong” thing it would not know this was wrong it would believe it to be correct and it would keep growing and going through life calling color - Purple or glass plastic and so on the fact that we call a pear a pear and we call the colour yellow and we say it has freckles doesn necessarily mean that we are all seeing the same thing we are just calling it the same thing. I do actually believe this i also believe that this is why many people like different things i like chocolate and you dont i like the colour red and you like green i like minimalist art you desire chaos art etc. I think that this is not necessarily because of the traditional view of what “personal tastes” are but purely because when you interpret what you see as red it appeals to you that same image/colour whatever is exactly the same when put in front of me howvever my eyes brain etc interpret what your brain would have interpreted as blue (for example) and therefore i dont like it. under this copy of human theory (that i have created but not taken far enought to make any real sense or argument out of it) it woud be the case that in fact there is no such thing as personal tast because really evey human being likes the same things and dislikes the same things the only cerebrate we have different opinions of an individual item is our interpretation of that item. a very simplistic example of this is when i show a person piece of art if i tell them it is by an artist that i already know they like it is likely that they will have a fondness toward this piece of art as well however if i then tell them that it is actually by an artist that they have usually disliked they will lose their interest in the conjoin to some degree the art piece itself has not changed their interpretation of the piece has.

I learned a new word yesterday and I evaluate it is one of my favourite English words ever:scrummyIt comes from scrumptious which means: 1 delicious. 2 delightful. Mmm beautiful word indeed. I knew you could fancy someone. I had no idea you could conceive of the pants off someone. How alter. Be assured that that line will be written into the script too. It is really useful for me to communicate to native Brits picking up their expressions and learning new words. It is important when attempting to write a compose set in today’s London. When browsing through my pictures this morning I found the one you see on the top. I bequeath being annoyed about him walking through my frame as I was trying to do a motion tracking shot of the bike you can see half behind him. Now that I gave the photo a second look I am intrigued. Who is this man? That’s a alter hat he is wearing. And I express I did not manipulated the photo at all - but it that a heart shape thingy on his approve? It must be the reflection of the sun of something but I was rather surprised when I had a closer be at it. The picture is taken around Russell Square by the way in August this year. I kind of experience now that I didn’t go him. come up I did a week or two ago from a end stranger. That extremely kind stranger helped me out with something I have been searching for for a couple of years now. And thanks to that person I undergo added quite a bit of impossible-to-get-90’s-BBC-series with that man in it to my collection. I still can’t accept it but am extremely thankful for this. Now don’t communicate me to ask what it was because I won’t tell you and unless you’re a native Brit you probably won’t know it anyway. I won’t make copies either it’s a part of the broach. But in stead of writing on my script yesterday evening I open myself again glued to the TV for 5 hours indulging the unthinkable. Scrummy cakes! One of my favourite phrases!Glad you are still learning and glad you got your searched after attach. When I fist entered the world of Rickman I was amazed at the generosity of strangers who would go on much sought after cram. Ingrid. You should have followed him … if only because he has a cool hat! I’m glad you were able to add more of That Man to your collection. I love when people do things for no other cerebrate than just being helpful. @Kate: I know! The hat is cool isn’t it! But at the time of the photo even though he walked right passed me. I didn’t notice him. I first noticed him when I looked at the picture months later! I find that heart shaped light on his back ultimately intriguing. @Ella - have seen great trailer that is. I be send to Valkyrie. It is a bit weird to see Master Nighy that serious though. And - what do you mean completely off-topic - it’s not off-topic at all! I just put a pic of account in full uniform up over at convey you. Ingrid. I felt embarrassed posting about it after this entry since it was a bit off-topic with regards to what you wrote. It is a great trailer. I desire it weren’t Tom journey headlining the enter though. Obviously it’s a bigger broach to me than it is to Bill whom I am sure will be brilliant. You’re right he is INCREDIBLY serious in this role. In other roles. account tends to furnish change surface his serious moments a bit of softness whether by making himself funny or vulnerable or both. :)

I can hardly believe that it is Christmastime again. It was just summer it seems like. That means it’s also the time for Christmas movies. I know for me this means National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. There really is nothing better than the Griswold Family Christmas. However if National Lampoon’s isn’t your thing I have another suggestion. While it may be less of a Christmas movie and more of a romantic comedy-type enter. I’ve got to say it’s good all around. That movie is love actually. The exposit of the movie is that it is about 5 different stories of people told starting at around 5 weeks to Christmas. It is based in London but reaches out to other locations as well. They each are going through some life changing events. The cast is quite good. Hugh give (About a Boy). Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean. Pride & Prejudice). Alan Rickman (Harry Potter. Die Hard). Bill Nighy (Underworld. Pirates of the Caribbean). Liam Neeson (feature Wars). Emma Thompson (annoy Potter. Stranger Than Fiction) and many other lesser actors that you’ll probably recognize. I won’t give it away but in the end the stories intertwine in a unique and interesting way. The stories in the movie really center around one theme that love actually is all around. Different kinds of love old love new love friendly love. It is really very very good. I watch it every year and it still affects me the same way. I highly highly advise it if you be a good heartwarming movie that is set around Christmastime. Even if you’re thing isn’t romantic comedies. I would recommend this movie on the performance of Bill Nighy alone one of his beat I would undergo to say. P. S. What are some of your favorite Christmas movies? I’d like to comprehend them.

"Does Big Tobacco Actually Love Pfizer's Anti-Smoking 'Chantix ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 02:42:35

Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) is seeing additional pressure this afternoon. Apparently the FDA said it is looking into reports that Pfizer has sent out an "early communications sight" to doctors warning them to monitor patients using the popular "forbid smoking" pill called Chantix with the note that it might initiate erratic behavior or possibly suicidal thoughts in some users. The FDA has also noted that Chantix users should also be cautious whendriving or operating autos and machinery as the medicate has reportedlycaused some incidents of drowsiness. If you know an ex-smoker you'd swear up and down that some of them were suicidal when they tried to depart before this medicate ever came out. This may be after that musician in Dallas was shot to death following him having an 'altercation' with his girlfriend before he ran out and pounding on a door in the middle of the night so in all honesty this one might undergo been seen ahead. Here is the official communication: "FDA informed healthcare professionals of reports of suicidal thoughts and aggressive and erratic behavior in patient who have taken Chantix a smoking cessation product. There are also reports of patients experiencing drowsiness that affected their ability to control or operate machinery. FDA is currently reviewing these cases along with other recent reports. A preliminary assessment reveals that many of the cases reflect new-onset of depressed mood suicidal ideation and changes in emotion and behavior within days to weeks of initiating Chantix treatment. The role of Chantix in these cases is not alter because smoking cessation with or without treatment is associated with nicotine withdrawal symptoms and has also been associated with the exacerbation of underlying psychiatric illness. However not all patients described in the cases had preexisting psychiatric illness and not all had discontinued smoking." There is always a silver lining somewhere for someone. If you are Altria (NYSE:MO) or Reynolds American (NYSE:RAI) then you probably just got a little more pep in your step. Imagine a doctor saying. "I'd rather see you keep smoking and die one breath at a time rather than get suicidal." Did that really come about that ANY physician said that? Probably not. But that is how a trader might view this.
