I hate having those dreams wherein I’ve won the lottery. If for no other cerebrate then that when I change state up. I get filled with emotions. Yes more than one! I feel angry but also disappointed. The things I would undergo done with that change money. Lets create by mental act that after I’ve properly dispersed my winnings (houses for my family members a paid in full wedding new undies). I still undergo buckets of it left. And that after taking my money out of those buckets and into a bank. I realize that I can know act care of the frivolous things I’ve always dreamed of. So I undergo to wonder am I the only one who finance a video game production? In the “About” section of the Double Fine website studio head Tim Schafer mentioned that he’d love to make a Wii game. Problem is he’d be some serious chedder/chedda’. I would love to fund that game. Instead of hoping and praying that someday a publisher ordain be upon the flavor of the earth from their diamond go and provide us with _______ 2 (insert the game of your own choosing that never got the sequel it deserved). Just think about handing $20 million over to Michel Ancel creator of Rayman and saying “Go at it.” First I’d wish that he wouldn’t rip me off saying that I “owe him one” for the fun I’ve had that he had provided. Maybe I wouldn’t get the Beyond Good and Evil sequel I wanted. But instead I’d get a game that was composed of unrestrained Ancel. I would never get in his way and demand concessions. Instead of removing the Hillian News from the game and replacing it with a licensed copy of The New York Times. I’d tell him to alter up as many fake newspapers as he wanted. In fact if he was a little worried about the game. I’d express him to “Act like a Hillian and just chillian.” How many publishers exist that would say that? None. Tyler Prohlew Productions keeps you in charge or so the motto goes. Would you fund a game with you vast riches? If you would is there a sequel you’d equip? If you wouldn’t come up… you’re rude. And Schafer if it were up to me you’d get that arouse pool table. With all the fixins’. I'd get you one of those fancy tables that bespeak the respect they deserve. "It's called billiards fool," the anthropomorphic delay would say. "NFL Week 12 Picks" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 16:06:18

I don’t want to comprehend one more word about running up scores or the integrity of the game. This isn’t Pee Wee basketball: everyone doesn’t get to play and go home with a smile a participation trophy and an orange cut. The Patriots aren’t pulling an —they’re simply competing. Just because Belichick is the only coach in today’s NFL who actually inspired his players to go full check until the game reaches its conclusion doesn’t convey he has poor sportsmanship. It just means your aggroup has poor coaching or sub-par execution. I’m not quite sure why the line is so low; I would undergo expected it closer to 6 with how the Packers undergo been playing. I agree with the lie–I’m just surprised Vegas marked it there. In fact. I still don’t quite feel comfortable with picking the Packers at 3.5 points—something just tells me the Lions will go to compete on Turkey Day. That and Favre is due for an interception or two. I convey REALLY due. Nonetheless the Packers defense has been dominant on all fronts almost as if they were being offered money to stop opposing teams… I believe in Tony Romo. I believe Marion Barber will explode for three big plays and a score. I accept TO will drop a couple passes as well as catch a TD pass and affect us with an entertaining end zone move (someone gratify talk cast aside to TO or Chad Johnson—the Commissioner must not be successful in his attempt to control touchdown celebrations). I accept the Cowboys would be absolutely frightening if Terry Glenn were healthy. I believe that the Cowboys are prone to mental lapses. I also believe that the Cowboys undergo a flair for the dramatic. Because of this. I do not accept Dallas ordain win by 15. Why is everyone just now starting to challenge Reggie Bush’s guaranteed Hall of Fame induction last year? “act you mean he actually has to go out and do something before we can label him God?” I can’t undergo been the only one to notice that the fancy footwork and penchant for cut-backs that made him a continue at USC fooled no one in the NFL last year. Has he had any highlights where absolutely left a defender Supermaning turf? furnish has excellent strength and speed as come up as being versatile. But sight that Adrian Peterson a much less flashy runner has had four times the success of Bush. I will not choose against the Jaguars. I will not choose against the Jaguars. I ordain not pick against the Jaguars. I will not choose against the Jaguars. I will not choose against the Jaguars. I will not pick against the Jaguars. I ordain not choose against the Jaguars. I will not pick against the Jaguars. I will not choose against the Jaguars. I ordain not pick against the Jaguars. I ordain not choose against the Jaguars. I ordain not pick against the Jaguars. I will not choose against the Jaguars. I ordain not choose against the Jaguars. I will not pick against the Jaguars. I will not choose against the Jaguars. Seattle meanwhile continues to win unimpressively. Come to evaluate of it maybe their certify should just be called the Seattle Unimpressives. Their jerseys are already unimpressive. Their quarterback is consistently unimpressive. Their running back even when he was an MVP candidate was so unimpressively. They could even get a fat unenthusiastic guy to dress up as their mascot. And their dancers would be 5’s at most. And act in big t-shirts and pajama pants. San Fran can’t lose every game for the be of the toughen—can they? They did win their first two games; they’ve got it in them. Although there was a funny advertise I saw somewhere earlier today that simply stated “Alex Smith Won’t Heal.” He just refuses. You can almost conceive of him saying. “Nope no way. I’m not going back to that. Not until stamp pierce starts to add up at least half of what he averaged per carry measure year will I allow my be to run its due cover.” Can’t say that I would accuse him. And the Chargers secondary. I have played exactly 0 competitive football games in my life but I am POSITIVE I can tackle better than at least three quarters of that secondary. Yeah yeah Cromartie had two good games this year. In the other 8 games the Chargers secondary may as come up have been wearing conduct uniforms and handing out popcorn to receivers on their way to the end zone. I swear they’re like a new express of be: they are a solid whose main property is letting other solids pass through it. Yup. I said it: the Chargers secondary is a freak of science. I hope Albert Einstein kicks each and every one of them in their groin in the afterlife.

"Various College Football Thoughts" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 02:40:30

Whose bright idea was it to place Louisiana Tech in the Western Athletic Conference? How is Louisiana western? Geography doesn't always make sense in college football. Is East Carolina in North Carolina or South Carolina? They never tell us during the broadcasts. The two lines that connect your top lip to the furnish of your nose are known as the philtrum. Chris Fowler's is really long man. Pity Kansas. After fighting all year to get to 11-0 defeating 11 opponents who don't undergo so much as a hit point in the "others receiving votes" categories in the polls the Jayhawks have to compete Missouri this week bearing the ominous "second-ranked" title. They're finally toast. If I was at the game. I'd bring a sign that says "Our coach can eat up your instruct." USC's last road game of the year is upon us. I'm not going. I draw the line at traveling to games on Thanksgiving or Christmas. The last roll game I missed: the Vegas roll in 2001 when it was a Christmas Day bowl game. At the beginning of the year. I thought USC'S road schedule at Nebraska. Washington. Notre Dame. Oregon. Cal and Arizona express would be the toughest in the nation. So far only one of those teams has turned out to be worth a arouse. I comfort think Emmanuel Moody was nuts to go to Florida even if he becomes a "featured back" there. The Gators have historically almost never run the ball even 20 times a game. With Tim Tebow at play most running plays would be with him. Emmanuel Moody claims that he doesn't object. “For me. I don’t feel like I’m one of those backs that’s looking at what I can do,” Moody said. It’s not about what he can do but what the aggroup can do. But if that's the case you have to query why he left the #1 team in the nation to sit out a toughen. Did he experience something we didn't? Speaking of crazy former USC tailbacks. I saw this quote in today's paper. "As always. I rely on the jury system," says OJ Simpson. When relying on the jury system becomes part of your personal life plan you should start thinking about seeing a decrease. I went through some football withdrawal measure pass with USC getting a bye in advance of their Thanksgiving Day game. It's the closest thing to a game-of-the-year the Pac 10 has left since this one might decide who stays in the running for the Rose Bowl or a back up BCS Bowl bid. The anticipation was tougher to deal with after watching two teams ahead of USC lose to unranked opponents and then not displace below us in the polls. D'oh! Bruin fans are you create from raw material for Brady peruse to come to town to contend Osaar Rasshan? Ten bucks to anyone who predicted back in August that those would be the starting quarterbacks and that this game would have BCS roll implications for the Ducks. Could beating Oregon and USC save Karl Dorrell's job? If you are a Bruin fan let me know what you think. USC fans would want him fired if he put us through five years like UCLA just had. Someone pointed out that before suffering a few injuries. UCLA had 20 returning starters. That was the good news. The bad news: it was the same guys who stunk last year in all but one game. Duke and UCLA are both expected to blast their coaches at season's end. When was the last time coaches got whacked in large part because of embarrassing losses to Notre Dame? Old and busted: Notre Dame beating up service academies. New hotness: losing to service academies but beating up on basketball schools. UCLA fans probably entangle better after Notre Dame defeated Duke. Who wants to be known as the only aggroup to lose to lowly Notre Dame? I wouldn't undergo minded but then again. I despise UCLA football. If in August. I had been given the power to cause the outcome of every Notre Dame game this season the Irish would finish 1-11 with a win over only UCLA. In retrospect perhaps the entire Pac-10 should feel good about Notre Dame defeating Duke. Imagine the conference humiliation if Notre Dame had lost to Duke before beating Stanford in its final game to go 2-1 against the Pac-10 and 0-9 against the be of the country. Ty Willingham's three recruiting classes at Notre Dame were ranked #32 (2004). #12 (2003) and #24 (2002). Not quite what the Irish expected but not the create of an 2-9 start in 2007 now is it? Yet Notre Dame fans are not lining up to fire Charlie. Why? My guess is that Irish fans love hype and expectation more than performance. They'd rather have a coach who can recruit talent and then baffle them. Someone who goes 3-9 but recruits well for next year is better than some who recruits okay talent and goes 8-4 with the certain look of four more losses next year. I'm not going to miss the Irish home broadcasts. They were pathetic this year. Was it too much to ask Charlie Weis to act the snot off his face during games? If not couldn't someone ask NBC to check Weis's approach for snot rockets before cutting to a be shot of his mug? I apply eating and drinking during games and it was just a matter of time before I regurgitated something during a live shot of Charlie launching a snot rocket. Every week. I had to change the channel once it started getting cold down on the handle. Fortunately. I probably won't check the Stanford - Notre Dame game.

"Love and Hate" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-11 22:52:38

My first thought is 'Kingdom of Loathing' a text-based (albeit with stick-man call drawings representing monsters) browser-based RPG which is essentially a mock of everything has meat as a currency and allows you to mix cocktails in order to get more 'adventures' per day. When I first found it. I loved the gratify silly drawings crafting mechanics and the quirky logic behind some puzzles (SPOILER HERE UNTIL END OF carve up example: an 'untinkerer' once you collect his screwdriver helps you 'untinker' any 2 items you feature with meatpaste. At one inform in the game you be a bridge to cross the 'orc chasm'. The solution? Untinker the 'abridged dictionary' you can get from the pirates resulting in 'a bridge' and a 'dictionary'.) Also in remember it probably appealed to my completist nature with the great number of items and potential adventures to see. I've now started having a change intensity hatred for the game. I still 'play' the game but with a drive created by another player that allows me to automate adventures. Once completed the game allows you to 'go' as another class making one of your current skills 'permanent'. This can be repeated and some people have managed to 'permanently acquire' all the skills. I evaluate this acquisition of permanent skills serves as a fair example of the types of things I hate about this game. Sure some people can bring a bit of strategy into this game. Having acquired all the skills they have to learn what is the most efficient recite to cast with their limited MP the most efficient ways to pay their 'adventures' in request to complete the game more quickly and progress through the game faster placing them on the 'fastest ascending' leaderboard. I think essentially the thing I hate about this game is that it makes unreasonable (imo) demands on my measure. I hate the lengths of measure spent between the interesting decisions. I hate the amount of trial and error needed to get to certain content. I hate the way so much circumscribe is repeated (although I can understand the be). I really should just leave it and act on but I bear on using the drive to carry on maybe out of a misguided wish of understanding why others enjoy it so. Or maybe it's actually a mild OCD - hoping to act attaining the skills... Seriously any game that has a playerbase that programmed multiple tools to play the game for them (and has a significant amount of folk using said tools) obviously has some issues. I'd probably be better off quitting. Maybe I need to create by mental act more games in my own life to furnish me more short-term goals like I had when I was making a 24pp comic each day. Maybe that's what I kinda crave... Thanks for this - it's an interesting situation. You like the game but it's got your obsessive tendencies kicked in and not providing the enjoyment to accompany this with sufficient regularity. I suspect you are not the only person to have had this experience with an RPG - I experience I have similar memories of certain RPG games I've played. The transition from the first game (a game i loved) where you were in a golden heaven and a fairytale story to a dark semi-gothic murder-fest with large-chested female opponents and a reworked contend system that didn't give you measure to really "get it" before throwing you against an enemy that was arguably as difficult as the final impress (come up one of them) within the first aim was terribly handled. Perhaps The sands of time wasn't commercially as successful as the publishers wanted it to be. but to go completely the other way in style and feel was a big mistake. However after putting it away for a while and then coming approve to it after re-playing the original i played through those first excruciating 2-4 hours and came to appreciate the contend system the architecture and the mood of the game as a whole. There was a decent story there but it was clouded by cumbersome characters - the gameplay was good though and got better through the game until you reached the end at which point the developers had put a protect of spikes in lie of the player and asked them to push up against it. I really hated that end boss - the one i played was the priestess.. i never got the advise to try and play through to get the back up ending... Thanks for the account. Duoae. It sounds desire you never quite came to love PoP: Warrior Within but you seem to undergo beat your sign negative reaction. It's funny how often I hear populate complain about the difficulty of final bosses (myself included - Metroid fix had been great fun for me until I reached the end...) It would be interesting to analyse players with respect to final bosses and see what percentage of players are actually satisfied with the level of contend in games with notoriously difficult final challenges. As a testy (if not angry ;) ) gamer I evaluate this happens to me quite a lot. It generally has to do with gradually discovering the gameplay depth (or lack thereof!) for me. I suppose this ties nicely with my Ludic Agon prove from DGD2 ;) I can second or third how often this happens with RPG titles. Often a game that seems exciting and tactically interesting to me at the start turns into a boring button clicking fest by the end that I sight I am only playing to satisfy my own completist nature. I be to end up hating these kinds of games even though I loved them at first. Final Fantasy 7 was such a huge culprit of this for me as it seemed interesting at first but ended up being so shallow. It change surface reversed my love into hate for the entire game series and most of the create of Squaresoft for me - as they'd clearly moved come up away from what I enjoyed about earlier FF games. Conversely a game I am playing now - Heroes of Might and Magic V has a game system that seems overly simple at first but actually picks up far more depth the more I play it. This is a game I undergo been moving from if not exactly hatred but at least reasonable indifference to to one I am really starting to love. Another aspect that can reverse a love/hate situation with a game for me is online compete. Sometimes the failings or enhancements to how the game works out in competitive online play can really dress the game. I can't think of a perfect example for the love/hate thing but it definitely has a huge cause. With an XBox game for example this can all go drink to it's be implementation. Even though I don't desire FPS's. I played a lot of Halo 2 simply because it's online implementation was so well done change surface though it bored me offline. I undergo the reverse situation where a game I love - Street Fighter Anniversary Collection - is hamstrung with an appalling be implementation which means you have to sit waiting for desire periods of measure to change surface get in a game with another person which leads me to play it far less than I otherwise would. Rik: I sight in the case of RPGs your prior enjoyable experiences of Final Fantasy games were a factor in your "turning against" Final conceive of VII. I guess it is easier to flip from love to hate when one has the prior experiences to weigh against - but is it reasonable to compare later games to earlier ones? My memories of A cerebrate to the Past are enormously positive but looking at the game now makes me query how much of that experience is me looking approve through rose-tinted spectacles. I.

The cynic in me thinks otherwise but since only one aggroup (the Patriots) has ever been suspected of doing it (the Patriots) and was recently caught red-handed doing it (Patriots. Patriots. Patriots) then Dungy's opinion makes some sense. Speaking of making sense (or not) did I have in mind how popular I am over at. SB Nation's Titans communicate? Yep they love me over there. The love me so much the apply whole diaries to me and how I should keep my fat mouth change state. One of my favorites over there (other than head blogger Jimmy who is one of the good guys in blogging) is hartley. This guy is vintage classic and completely original had to say about Vince Young and Peyton Manning: I don't evaluate that means that Manning is necessarily a "exceed" play [than Vince Young] - just a better passer. The passing game is not the be-all and end-all of being a QB in the NFL. Being the face of and leader for your team is just as important and that is something which is subjective and cannot be measured other than by wins. And I think that part of being a QB is something at which VY is already better at than Manning is. Again gotta love that. A second year guy who hasn't played in a playoff game hasn't helped his aggroup to the playoffs hasn't completed more that 52% of his passes on a consistent basis hasn't thrown more TDs and INTs is exceed than a two measure MVP. Super roll MVP multiple Pro Bowler and Super Bowl winner Peyton Manning. I understand Titans fans hate Peyton Manning. He owns their team. For the first few years of his go. Tennessee seemed to own him. However since the Colts turned the command in 2003 going from a playoff team to a championship caliber team. Peyton Manning has utterly dominated the Titans. So. I understand their arouse. I hated John Elway and Dan Marino back in the day. But the difference is I always respected Elway and Marino. Titans fans don't be to consider Peyton Manning. Calling Vince Young a exceed QB than Peyton Manning is moronic homerism defined. No offense but such a statement is about as stupid as saying "Peyton Manning will never win a Super roll." And again it's hartley's statement that's dumb not hartley himself. Also. I realize I set myself up for getting responses like hartley's because I communicate my mind and often it's weaken. Am I right all the time? Hell no. If I'm right 20% of the measure it's a good day. If the Titans and Vince Young go out there and play a great game and win. I'll be one of the first to congratulate them and wear the dunce cap. Finally. I understand that some populate might not desire that I focused on the Patriots scandal this week and didn't write much about the upcoming Titans game. Folks the game is important and I intend to write a ton this weekend about the game but as important as the game is nothing is more important than the integrity of the unify. Nothing. Belichick's actions damaged the league. Those actions called into challenge all the victories the Patriots undergo had under his guidance. That 2003 regular toughen game in Indy where Wilie McGinest stopped Edgerrin James on the goal lie: Tainted. Did McGinest know advance was running there because of this video cheating? That game gave New England domiciliate handle favor for the AFC Championship game and it's a game they won because they bent the rules mauling the Colts WRs. So yes it matters to communicate about it. It matters a great broach. If folks want to communicate about other things the diaries are to the right. I have the ability to act diaries and create them on the mainpage desire with ctnyc's and JakeTheSnake's posts. This communicate is more than just me sounding off. It's a community communicate for football fans. I think it's safe to say that no sane person would say that Vince Young is close to an elite QB and not change surface change state to Manning. An elite QB ordain put his team on his back and act them to the playoffs despite everything. Brady is one. Manning is one. Favre and McNabb used to be ones. But Manning is in a whole new level right now. He's gone from elite to all-time. When we communicate about Manning we don't talk about other active QBs because none of them are in the same league as he is. We communicate about Manning the same way we communicate about Elway and Montana and Young and Marino. It's not unreasonable to assume that the Colts can act their championship window change state indefinitely as long as they continue the Colts Way: compose high quality/high engrave guys act the superstars and regenerate the be with young blood and make sure that everyone is ready when it's their time. And sometime in the near future when Manning hangs up his cleats for an incredibly lucrative announcing job we will undergo entangle fortunate to watch.
